Reclaimed timber, Lower Campfield
During demolition we salvaged timber from the original mezzanine floor and reworked it into bespoke wall panelling throughout the building, preserving a sense of history while reducing waste.

Responsibility
Sustainability is part of how we build, not just for today but for the buildings’ whole lives. It runs from our first BREEAM projects to the solar panels powering our workshop.
Our approach
We are delivering our first BREEAM-accredited projects, including Lower Campfield in Manchester, where we are working toward a BREEAM Very Good rating through targeted action on energy, waste, materials and site management.
A dedicated in-house sustainability team makes sure BREEAM requirements are understood and implemented by site teams and subcontractors, and looks for chances to exceed minimum targets.
Our fleet is moving to electric, and solar panels installed with B-eng now power our joinery workshop, so production in Wigan runs on renewable energy.

Case studies

During demolition we salvaged timber from the original mezzanine floor and reworked it into bespoke wall panelling throughout the building, preserving a sense of history while reducing waste.

Original exposed structural beams and feature timber were restored and retained in The Loft, Kings House’s fourth-floor workspace.

Panels installed with B-eng now power our joinery workshop, reducing our reliance on grid electricity for in-house production.
